About Health Care Sector
The Indian healthcare sector is expected to grow to Rs.18,20,000 crores by 2020* and the workforce requirements for the healthcare sector is expected to double its growth from 35.9 lakh by 2022 to meet the market demand, as reported by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). In 2012, a Public Health Foundation of India study stated that India had a shortage of 8.85 lakh anaesthetist, 1.27 lakh ophthalmologists and optometrists, 61,000 medical laboratory technicians, 19,000 radiographers & 2.3 lakh medical technology workers. Further, a rapid rise has been seen in the percentage of ailments due to the stressful lifestyle adopted by the people in India, giving rise to as increased demand for a paramedical workforce to address this situation. A growing number of hospitals are trying to overcome this challenge of shortage of skilled manpower. STATE BOARD OF PARAMAEDICAL COUNCIL a well established Vocational Training Institute in educaucatsince 2000 has taken the Institute of training young individuals in the field of Paramedics with its new division, STATE BOARD OF PARAMAEDICAL COUNCIL.
